Bring back Rasiak! All is forgiven!

It's true, there isn't a whole lot of good news right now - but thats the nature of our fans. I honestly believe we are a dedicated defensive midfield player away from having a VERY good side indeed. The defence looks useless right now because they have no cover - something this would fix.

In Bentley, Modric, Lennon and Dos Santos, we have one of the most exciting young attacking quartets in the league. Things will work themselves out.

Berbatov didn't sign a new deal - Spurs have the option for another 2 years on top of his original contract.

Anyway, am absolutely desperate to see him. He's not even half the player they make him out to be.

I was surprised Gilberto didn't play instead of BAE.

Not all that surprised by the result, and still convinced we'll have a good year.

Your comments regarding SOME elements within the British media hounding out Sven-Goran strike a particular chord with me as I am his lookalike/soundalike celebrity double and have been engaged by 100's of prestige client's (including TheFA Official Hospitality) for live appearance work in addition to countless TV, film and video broadcasts. The point of that is, I am routinely mistaken for the great man and in all my years with 100,000's of football fans and the great British public, I have NEVER received anything but appreciation and affection "on Sven's behalf".
With only five competitive games lost, cruising easily to top place in each qualifying group, achieving FIFA No.4 rank during W-Cup06 and beating the statistics of every previous England coach manager (other than bringing home the trophies he,and we deserved!), the rest of the world are still amused and amazed that he was allowed to be driven out of office and after the way he was "rewarded" by the media, I wonder how long it will be before we get another manager any where near his calibre?
Do the tabloids have a death wish for English international football? It looks like their intention of destroying our chances in Euro2008 have been answered maybe...
Thanks for the interesting BLOG.

update from Sky: Quotes from the Dutch tactician in Friday's tabloids hit out at Comolli's transfer policy, stating the club's signings unbalanced the side.

However, Jol's spokesman has stated the quotes attributed to the former 51-year-old are not valid.

"These quotes are not attributable to Martin," confirmed a spokesman for the Dutchman.

"We believe they come from articles in Holland which in the translation from Dutch to English have been reported as coming from Martin, but they did not."

additional: it turns out the whole "resignation" thing was spin, also known as a lie. Jol was told by someone close to him about his being fired in the tunnel after the game. He confirmed it and then went to say goodbye to the players. No reliable reports have leaked out about player dissent and everyone was, apparently, sad to see the man leave.
